PUT THE CAKE IN THE DRESSER. Irish, Reel. ‘Composed’ by London-based County Sligo fiddler Michael Gorman (1895-1970), the tune is actually the famous “Cooley’s Reel (1)” with an added third part composed by Gorman. The fiddler recorded it in 1958 under the "Put the Cake in the Dresser" title. The composition has been credited to several people, including accordion players Joe Mills and Joe Cooley (who were both members of the Aughrim Slopes Band in the late 1930's).
