Source for notated version: Bill Black notes the setting is fiddler Kathleen Collins’ version of a favorite of New York fiddler Andy McGann’s, who had the tune from (flute player) Mike Rafferty (b. 1926, Ballinakil, east Galway), who learned it from the playing of his father, Barrel Rafferty [Black].

Printed sources: Black (Music’s the Very Best Thing), 1996; No. 128, p. 66. Harker (300 Tunes from Mike Rafferty), 2005; No. 72, p. 23.

Recorded sources: Larraga LR090098, Mike and Mary Rafferty – “The Old Fireside Music” (1998). Shanachie 34010, Kathleen Collins – “Traditional Music of Ireland” (originally released in 1978). Shanachie 79054, Cherish the Ladies – “Fathers and Daughters” (1986).
