BALCAIS AN BLOMAIRE (Put on Your Clothes). AKA – "bAlcais an bLomaire," "Cuir ort do cuid eadaig." Irish, Jig. C Major (Levey, O'Neill): D Major (Roche). Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. See also the related “Short Grass.”
Source for notated version: Chicago Police Sergeant James O’Neill, a fiddler originally from County Down and Francis O’Neill’s collaborator [O'Neill]. However, it would seem the Sgt. O'Neill may have mined the tune from R.M. Levey's earlier collection, where it is untitled.
