DONEGAL DOUGHERTYS, THE. Irish, Reel. D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AA'BB'. Composed by County Cavan/Philadelphia fiddle player and composer Ed Reavy (1898-1988) in honor of his friend Neil Doherty and his son John of Glenties, Donegal, and Philadelphia. The Doherty's (or, Dougherty, in America) were part of the fiddling Donegal Doherty clan which included the famous fiddling brothers John, Mickey and Simon.
