Sources for notated versions: the Irish collector Edward Bunting noted the tune from the harper Charles Byrne (Co. Leitrim) in 1806; "From P. Coneely," the Galway piper [Stanford/Petrie]; James Goodman music manuscript collection [1] (County Cork, mid-19th cent.) [Shields].
