MISS McGUINNESS [1] (Iníon Mhic Aonghusa). AKA and see "Dan Backus' Favorite," "Going to the Fair," "Jim Coleman's (1)," "Liverpool Jack's," "Take Your Choice," "Terence's Rambles." Irish, Reel or Hornpipe. G Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AB (Breathnach, Flaherty): AAB (Taylor). An early version of the tune can be found as "Dan Backus' Favorite" in Ryan's Mammoth Collection (1883). Backus was a blackface minstrel.

Source for notated version: piper Tommy Reck/Tomás Riabhach (Ireland) [Breathnach]; flute player and piper Tommy Hunt (b. 1908, Lissananny, Ballymote, County Sligo) [Flaherty]; set dance music recorded at Na Píobairí Uilleann, late 1980’s [Taylor].
