The tune was composed by Biography:Malcolm_MacDonald and appears in his Collection of Strathspey Reels, vol. 1, dedicated to Mrs. Baird of Newbyth. See also MacDonald's tune for another member of the family, "Miss Jeann Stewart of Bohally (2)." The first strain is very similar to the first strain of Joshua Cumming's Bridge of Craige (The);" the second strains much less so, but still comparable in character.
