REEL DES SUCRES [1]. AKA and see "Gigue des sucres," “Portland Fancy (1).” French-Canadian, Jig (6/8 time). G Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. "Reel des sucres" (Sugaring Reel) is a Québec name for what is known in American contra dance circles as “Portland Fancy (1),” a 6/8 time jig. Allard also recorded another "Reel des sucres (2)", a duple-time reel.
