There was a Mr. Murdoch who was a gardener for Gordon Castle, Fochabers, as was Alexander Walker for Newe Castle. Perhaps they had a collegial relationship, if this was the "Mr. Murdoch" the title references, however, the dates do not seem to quite match up.
