'''CRAIG COYNACH'''. Scottish, Strathspey. A Minor. Standard tuning (or ADae, a la Allie Bennett). AAB. Composed by Alexander Walker (1819-18??), born in Rhynie, Strathbogie, Aberdeenshire. Walker was an accomplished musician, inventor, and agriculturalist, employed for many years by Sir Charles Forbes of Castle Newe. He emigrated to America in the late 1860's and established himself in Northhampton, western Massachusetts, where he joined family and ran a prosperous farm. His collection was printed in Scotland prior to his leaving, and he is recorded as having continued to compose in America, although that output is apparently lost. Craig Coynach is a height that overlooks Braemar and is named for one of the Scottish kings named Kenneth.
