SANDMOUNT, THE. AKA – “Sandymount Reel.” AKA and see "Mick Hand's Reel,” “Sandpiper (The).” Irish, Reel (cut or whole time). A Dorian. Standard tuning (fiddle). AAB. Tin whistle player Mary Bergin recorded the tune in 1979 as "Mick Hand's Reel." Recorded by the Ballinakill Céilí Band (East Galway) in Dublin, 1938. The band’s founding members were Anna Rafferty, Stephen Maloney, Tommy Whelan, Tommy Whyte, and Jerry Maloney.
