FAIRY RATH, THE (An Rat Side). Irish, Air (6/8 time, "playfull"). G Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AB. A 'rath' is a fort. Paul de Grae identifies this air as the one used by John O'Daly in Poets and Poetry of Munster (1850) as the vehicle for a song by Brian O'Flaherty called "The Fairy Rath of Bruff" (Bínn Lisín Aorach an Bhrogha).
