Bayard (1981) identifies this as belonging to the "Paddy on the Turnpike" variant tune family. Nigel Gatherer identifies the Scottish tunes "Old Reel (The)" and "Cairngorum Brooch" as variants. Paul de Grae identifies "Bobby Casey's" as a related tune.
