Tune properties and standard notation
FRAISES ET LES FRAMBOISES, LES (Raspberries, Strawberries). Canadian, New England; Air and Two-Step (2/4 time). G Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). tuning There is a singing call to the dance tune (Page). ABB' (Miskoe & Paul): AABB (Page): AABB' (Miller & Perron): AA'BB' (Sweet). The chorus of the song goes:
Ah, les fraises et les framboises du bon vin j'en ai bu. Croy-ez-moi, jolies bourgeoises, J'me suis jamais tant plu.
Source for notated version: transplanted French-Canadian fiddler Omer Marcoux {1898-1982} (Concord, New Hampshire), who "learned (the tune) in the crib" [Miskoe & Paul].
