GARRETT BARRY'S REEL. AKA and see "Denis Murphy's Reel (1)," "Mr. McLeod's." AKA - "Denis Murphy's Miss McLeod's." Irish, Reel. G Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. Garrett Barry (1847-1899) was a blind piper from Inagh, County Clare, who died in the Ennistymon Poor House around the year 1900, "whose memory is very much alive in the locality to the present day" (Mitchell). It is said that it was Barry's habit to pair this tune with the "Virginia Reel (6)."
