The tune, of unknown provenance, appears under this title in O’Farrell’s Pocket Companion for the Irish or Union Pipes (vol. II, c. 1806). The first part bears some general similarity to the march/air “Rising of the Moon (The).” It bears not relation to Playford's "Short and Sweet (1)."
