GEORGE PRIVETT'S POLKA. English, Polka. G Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AA'B. George Privett was a musician from Hampshire, southern England, who for 30 years had a musical partnership with accordion player Ruth Askew--they were regular participants at the Saturday Night session at Sam's Hotel at Shedfield. Privett himself played the melodeon and sang, and was famous for his exuberant playing of the spoons.
