GIVE US ANOTHER (Tabair Duinn Ceann Eile). Irish, Reel. D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AA'B. The melody is in Frank Roche's Collection of Traditional Irish Music, volume 1 (1912, p. 73), as "Gleann Coise Binne (1)" (The Melodious Foot of the Glen, pronounced in English, 'Glencoshabinnia'), where the tune is almost note-for-note that printed by O'Neill. A version was entered as an untitled reel into Book 2 (No. 145) of the large c. 1883 music manuscript collection of County Leitrim piper and fiddler biography:Stephen Grier (c. 1824-1894). Paul de Grae remarks that "Give Us Another" seems to be source John McFadden's version of the Scottish reel "Braes of Auchtertyre (The)."

Chicago police patrolman biography:John McFadden, originally from County Mayo, came from a family of fiddlers, and, while not musically literate, had a vast repertory and the ability to produce variations spontaneously. Frustrated in transcribing, Chief O'Neill chided good-naturedly that he never played a tune the same way twice.
