Tune properties and standard notation
GLORISHEARS [2]. AKA - "Leapfrog". English, Morris Dance Tune (6/8 time). G Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AB, AB, AC, AC. From the village of Leafield, Oxfordshire, in England's Cotswolds. The collector Cecil Sharpe called the village Fieldtown, and dances from the village are known as Fieldtown dances in morris circles today. Sharpe collected the music for this and other dances from Leafield fiddler Frank Butler. The music bears no resemblance to the tunes used in Bledington or Headington. The alternate title, "Leapfrog", is descriptive of a portion of the morris dance that is performed to the tune.
