REEL OF BOGIE [2], THE. AKA and see "O'er Bogie," "O'er Bogie wi' My Love." Scottish, Reel. C Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AB. The “Reels of Bogie” in Robert Burns’ song (Merry Muses of Caledonia, 1798, No. 158) were a euphemism for fornication:

The lads ne’er think it is amiss,
To bang the holes whereout they piss,
And that’s the reels o’ Bogie.
[Gordon Williams: Dictionary of Sexual Language and Imagery in Shakespearean and Stuart Literature, 1994]
