Tune properties and standard notation
GRAND PARADE [1], THE. AKA and see "Moon and Seven Stars (The)," "even Stars (The)," "True Briton (The)." English, Country Dance Tune (6/8 time). England, Yorkshire. D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. The title may indicate the tune was used for a 'march around' or 'grand march' type dance, such as was common at the beginning of country dances. Perhaps it is also an allusion to the 'grand parade' of the heavens.
