MATILDA MURDOCH (1920-2019) was a revered New Brunswick fiddler and composer from Miramichi. She learned to play the fiddle as a child and played and performed throughout her life, and her compositions numbered into the hundreds. Many of her tunes were 'covered' by other musicians, including Don Messer. She was inducted into the Order of Canada and the Order of New Brunswick and received a lifetime achievement award from Music New Brunswick in 2016.
