HALFWAY HOUSE, THE (Teac an Meadon-Botair). AKA and see "John Lardiner's," "Lardners' (1)," "Turnpike Reel." Irish, Hornpipe. A Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. The second part is similar to the 'B' part of an untitled reel collected in Pennsylvania by Bayard (1981, No. 122, p. 68). There are many inns named 'Halfway House' that were accommodations on old coach roads, so named because they were a waystop between destinations.
