BONNY WEE THING, THE. Scottish, Highland Schottische or Reel. A Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AB. The tune was used by poet Robert Burns for one of his songs. Antiquarian John Glen finds the tune first printed in Robert Bremner's 1757 collection (p. 40) as "Bonny Wi Thing," under which title it appears in the Gillespie Manuscript of Perth (1768).
