Tune properties and standard notation
MRS. POWER/POER. AKA and see "Carolan's Concerto." Irish, Planxty. G Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AB. Composed by blind Irish harper Turlough O'Carolan (1670-1738) for Elizabeth Power, nee Keating, wife of David Power of Coorheen, Loughrea, County Galway. O’Carolan was a guest in the Power home and composed a tune for Elizabeth and David’s daughter, Fanny (“Planxty Fanny Power”) as well as for David.
Source for notated version: John Lee's A Favourite Collection of the so much admired old Irish Tunes, the original and genuine compositions of Carolan, the celebrated Irish bard (Dublin, 1780) [O'Sullivan].
