HONORABLE JOHN LESLIE MELVILLE. AKA - "John Leslie Melville." Scottish, Strathspey. D Minor/Dorian. Standard tuning (fiddle). AAB. Composed by Niel Gow (1727-1807). The Hon. General John Leslie-Melville (1759-1824) was the son of the 8th Earl of Leven and Melville. He later assumed the name of Cumming when he married the eldest daughter and heir of T. Cumming, Esq., in 1816.
