HONORABLE MR. RAMSAY MAULE('S STRATHSPEY). Scottish, Strathspey. E Minor. Standard tuning. AB. Composed by Perthshire fiddler-composer Niel Gow (1727-1807), apparently as "Mr. Ramsay Maule's," in honor of a patron. The honorific 'honorable' apparently was attached to the title in later 19th century editions and collections. See note for "Mr. Maule's Frolick" for more on Maule.
