IF THE HEART OF A MAN (IS DEPREST WITH CARES). AKA and see "Would You Have a Young Virgin," "Would You Have a Young Virgin of Fifteen Years," "Poor Robin's Maggot." English, Jig. D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. The air appears under this title in John Gay's Beggar's Opera (1729), Air 3, act I, set in 6/4 time, and where the indicated tune is "Would You Have a Young Virgin." It also appears in D'Urfey's Pills to Purge Melancholy, vol. 1.
