Tune properties and standard notation
JOGGING TO THE FAIR. AKA and see "Jockey to the Fair (2)." English, Morris Dance Tune (6/8 time). G Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). ABCBCB. From the village of Bampton, Oxfordshire, England. The leader and fiddler for the Bampton Morris Men, William "Jinky" Wells (1868-1953), played the tune and was recorded on an old cylinder disc machine. The recording (AFC 1972/001, Disc Side 249 01:07) is in the James Madison Carpenter Collection of the University of Sheffield.
