DON'T YOU REMEMBER THE TIME? Old-Time, Waltz. USA, Mississippi. A Major: G Major: C Major (Silberberg). Standard tuning (fiddle). One part (Silberberg): AA'. A song air and instrumental waltz recorded numerous times with and without vocals in the 1920's and 1930's. It was copyrighted to W.R. Williams (perhaps Will Rossiter) in 1919. The lyrics begin:

Just down the lane, over the stile,
Under the old oak tree,
There by the stream, we'd plan and dream,
Wonderful things to be.
I used to call you sweetheart of mine,
Don't you remember the time?

CHORUS:
When the shadows fall, and the stars begin to peep,
When the little birds. and the flowers fall asleep,
Memory brings back a picture complete,
Dear little girlie of mine.
When the silver moon was a-smiling from above,
' I was smiling too, on my only turtle dove,
We were contented for we were in love,
Don't you remember the time?
