BOB CHADDUCH'S JIG. AKA and see "King Pin Jig." American, "Sand Jig". A Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. A "sand jig" is a designation for a synchopated type of dance tune popular in the mid-19th century. It received its name from the practice of sanding the stage to reduce friction and facilitate the brushing of the shoes. "King Pin Jig" is related in the first strain.
