Back to Kelvarock's Strathspey


KELVAROCK. AKA and see "Kilvarock," "Kilrack's Reel," "Kilrack's Strathspey." Scottish, Slow Strathspey. A Mixolydian. Standard tuning (fiddle). AAB. "A very old tune," notes Gow in his First Collection (1784). See note for "Kilrack's" for more. The various spellings of the name stem from its pronunciation, 'kill-rake'.
