BRIDE NEXT. AKA and see "My Wife's a Wanton Wee Thing [1]." Scottish, Jig (6/8 or 6/4). D Mixolydian. Standard tuning (fiddle). AB. A "double-tonic" (e.g. G Major-A Major) tune. Printed in Henry Playford's 1700 collection of Scottish dance airs, Original Scotch-Tunes (p. 8). In the 18th century it acquired the alternate title "My Wife's a Wanton Wee Thing," still current.
