FIDDLING AROUND. American, Reel or Breakdown. C Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB' (Brody): AA'BB' (Bohrer/Kilbler). Adirondack mountains fiddler Vic Kibler thought that Vermont fiddler Clem Myers might have written this tune, and Frank Maloy, writing in The Devil's Box, says it was composed by his friend, southeastern fiddler Ruel Parker. It is often credited to swing fiddler Johnny Gimble, whose recording of the tune is much admired.
