CRYSTAL SPRINGS. Old-Time, Breakdown. G Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. Crystal Springs, in Fort Worth, Texas, was one of the seminal arenas for the development of Western Swing in the 1930's, with the Light Crust Doughboys, and a teenage fiddler named Jesse Ashlock.

Source for notated version: Frank Maloy (Englehard, N.C.), learned from a radio fiddler in the 1940's [Devil's Box].

Printed source: Devil's Box, vol. 21, No. 4, Winter 1987; p. 16.
