MISSOURI RAG. Old-Time, Country Rag. C Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AA’BB’. Composed by Lee Roy Stoneking (1907-1989). Drew Beisswenger (2008) finds a similar, although untitled, tune in R.P. Christeson’s Old Time Fiddler’s Repertory, vol. 2 (1984, p. 32) from the repertoire of Missouri fiddler Lonnie Robertson (1908-1981).

Source for notated version: Fred Stoneking (b. 1933, Missouri), learned from his father Lee (St. Clair County, Mo.) [Beisswenger & McCann].

Printed sources: Beisswenger & McCann (Ozarks Fiddle Music), 2008; p. 139.

Recorded sources: Fred Stoneking – “Butter the Other Side” (c. 1980’s. Privately issued).
