For seven long years, Johnny court the Widder,
For seven long years, and then he didn't get her.

From fiddler Roy Bennett, Battle Town, Meade County, Kentucky, recorded in 1976 by Bruce Greene. Bennett played the tune in standard tuning--for cross-tuned version see "Johnny Court the Widow (2)."
