This 19th century 'double-tonic' reel is attributed to Perthshire fiddler Duncan McKercher (1796-1873). A Scottish country dance from the island of Barra went by this title about 1910; elsewhere the same dance was known as "Round About Hullachan" and "Reel of Tulloch in a Circle" (Flett & Flett, 1964).
