'COUNTESS OF DALHOUSIE. Scottish, Strathspey. F Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AB. Composed by Nathaniel Gow (1763-1831), who dedicated his Fifth Collection (1809) to the Christina (Christian) Broun (1786-1839), Countess of Dalhousie, in the name of Niel Gow & Sons, although Niel had passed on a few years prior. She married General George Ramsay, 9th Earl of Dalhousie, son of George Ramsay, 8th Earl of Dalhousie and Elizabeth Glen, on 14 May 1805. She was a hostess and botanical collector.
