GOOD GIRL, THE. English, Country Dance or Reel. C Major (Preston); D Major (Ryan). Standard tuning (fiddle). AABBCCDD. A reel-time country dance of English origin. It is interesting to compare Preston and Ryan's version, separated by nearly a century. Both print country dance directions with the melody.

Source for notated version:

Printed sources: Cole (1000 Fiddle Tunes), 1940; p. 26. Preston (Preston's Twenty-Four Country Dances for the Year 1793). Ryan's Mammoth Collection, 1883;
