DORSET, LA. English, Quadrille (6/8). F Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). ABCDA. The melody was composed by Paolo Diana Spagnoletti (1768-1834), an Italian violinist and composer who moved to London at the turn of the 19th century. It is used here for the first movement of the "Lancers Quadrilles." The figure "Les Tiroirs" is sometimes used as a substitute for the first movement.
