DORSET, LA. English, Quadrille (6/8). F Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). ABCDA. The melody was composed by either Ernesto or his father Paolo Spagnoletti (1768-1834), the latter a famous Italian violinist and composer who moved to London around the turn of the 19th century. It is used here for the first movement of the "Lancers Quadrilles." The figure "Les Tiroirs" is sometimes used as a substitute for the first movement.
