COOPER O' STANNERTON HEUGH, THE. English, Jig. England, Northumberland. G Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. Stannerton is a variant name for the village of Stamfordham, Northumberland. In the early 18th century an establishment called the Red Lion Inn was to be found in Stamfordham, which become very popular with the gentry of Northumberland. The Earl of Derwentwater, of Jacobite fame, was a frequent visitor.
