CHAMPION OF THE SEAS. Scottish, Pipe Hornpipe. D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). Composed by Pipe Major William MacDonald (1850-1907), Craigmohr, Golspie. MacDonald's sons, William and John, both joined the Seaforth Highlanders during World War I and were killed in France on the same day in March, 1918. See also his composition "Leaving Glen Urquhart."
