LAST OF SIZEMORE [3]. Old-Time, Breakdown. USA, Ky. D Major. ADae tuning (fiddle). AB. Titon (2001) says the tune is related to Milo Biggers' tune called "Scott's Return." The tune was recorded by collector and fiddler Bruce Greene in February, 1977 from the playing of Kentucky fiddler Hiram Stamper [1]. Greene notes that the source was about a Civil War soldier who was "taken up a holler and shot". Stamper confused its name with another tune, "Last of Callahan," that has a similar attached tale of a condemned man, but which is a different tune, played in the key of A.

Source for notated versions: Hiram Stamper (Hindman, Knott County, Ky.) [Milliner & Koken, Titon].
