Amelia Anne Sophia Oliphant was born in August, 1765, to Laurence Oliphant, 7th of Gask and his wife Margaret Robertson. She married Charles Steuart, 8th of Dalguise in July, 1794, at Findo-Gask, Perthshire, Scotland, with whom she had a son. The Steuarts were an old Perthshire family; Charles was the last and only survivor of five brothers when he came into his inheritance.

Amelia Anne Sophia Oliphant was born in August, 1765, to Laurence Oliphant, 7th of Gask and his wife Margaret Robertson.
