MISS HAY OF HAYSTON'S REEL. Scottish. Composed by Neil Gow, junior (1795-1823), the son of Nathaniel and grandson of Niel Gow (who spelled his first name differently). A keen amateur musician, he entered the medical profession but died at the early age of 28. See also another of Gow Jr.'s tunes for the Hay family, "Mrs. Hay of Hayston’s Favorite."
