LOW BACK(ED) CAR [2] (Ais an Druim-Iseal). AKA and see "Jolly Plowman (1)/Jolly Ploughman (1)," "Jack the Jolly Ploughboy." Irish, Air (6/8 time, "playfully"). F Major (O'Neill): G Major (Howe). Standard tuning (fiddle). AB. The song is Samuel Lover's best-known piece. In America, the melody was listed as having commonly been played for Orange County, New York, country dances in the 1930's (Lettie Osborn, New York Folklife Quarterly). The 'B' part differs from "Low Backed Car (1) (The)." See note for "Jack the Jolly Ploughboy."
