CLARK'S WALTZ. AKA - "Red Hawk Waltz." Old-Time, Waltz. USA, Missouri. A Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AB. "Clark's Waltz" is one of the '100 essential Missouri fiddle tunes' according to Missouri fiddler Charlie Walden. Silberberg says that Fred Stoneking, his source, got this double-stop heavy tune from Missouri fiddler Pete McMahon. "Clark's Waltz" had been recorded by Fred's father, Lee Stoneking," in the 1970's however. Missouri fiddler Art Galbraith (1909-1993) recorded the melody as "Red Hawk Waltz."
