BOYS FROM THE WEST, THE. AKA and see "Hexham Races," "Jude's Farewell," "Kenmore Lads," "I Will if I Can [1]," "Kenmuir's Up and Awa'." Irish, Double Jig. G Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. Bayard's (1981) opinion is that this as one of the tunes descended from "Kenmuir's Up and Awa," a song that appeared around 1792 and which gave the tune its name. See also Bayard's note for "Four Hundred Years Old." The Kilfenora Céilí Band recorded the melody as "Jude's Farewell."
